Shaker Collectors– All material processing or transformation such as wood products, plastics, alloys or even powder handling/batching will create harmful airborne dusts which may get into the workers breathing zone. The filter envelope captures 95% to 99% of particles in sizes ranging from 5 to 10 microns allowing clean air to be recycled back in to the plant. The results are low operating management costs since a makeup air unit (MAU) may not be required. The motorized or manually operated shaker dislodges the dusts trapped on the filter surface which decanter into the dust bin. Usually, the exhaust fan and optional silencer are set on top of the unit (for motorized version) allowing even more space saving features. The manual shaker type comes with a self cleaning AMCA type B radial blade fan which operates on positive pressure into the filter bag. Filter bag will help in reducing noise level and a fan outlet silencer is also available for this type of system.
Enclosureless Manual Shaker – Eurovac MASC manual shaker dust collector offers the same high efficiency multi pocket filter envelope (95% at 5 microns and more) as the motorized version but built into an open type cabinet. Designed for interior installation, the greatest advantage is not requiring highly expensive spark detection and extinguishing device, no explosion vent and no blowback damper. Those NFPA safety devices alone can make any dust collector three times the price of the unit. Furthermore, the collector does not require return air ductwork since the filter allows redistribution of clean air through the four open sides!
The usual fan is a quiet direct drive 1750 RPM AMCA type B spark proof impeller and is installed next to the collector. The industrial grade powder coat painted steel frame comes with a hopper to help the dusts trickle down into the bin and a deflector located at the inlet ensures the larger chips are pushed into the bin thus helping the filter to catch only the finer particles. The filter is sateen finish interior to minimize ‘’caking’’ on filter surface. The quick release lock latch on bin lid ensures there is no dust or air leakage since no flexible hose is used for connection between the hopper and the lid.
Maintenance is limited to rocking the broom handle type handle back and forth for a few minutes at the end of each shift. The unit is usually shipped fully assembled so minimal installation time which means more savings to the customer. The collector has a compact foot print with floor plates to anchor into the concrete floor.
Modular Cartridge Collectors-Eurovac’s Modular filter is designed to filtrate air from dry applications. Applications such as welding smoke, metal dusts, some pharmaceutical dusts, and most non-explosive dry dust’s can be handled by Eurovac’s Modular Filter. The units are modular in construction and can be ordered in 1,2,3 or even more modules. The modules can also be refitted in the field by removing panels and bolting additional units together. Thus making it ideal for growing companies. The Modular Collector Filter is not designed for excess temperatures, explosive contaminants or flammable gases. thanks to its high filtration efficiency, filtered air can be returned to the working area.
Wet Dust Collectors– Eurovac Wet Scrubbers purify air by a combination of centrifugal forces and violent mixing of water and contaminated air. As the air stream passes the fixed baffles, the particulate is separated by a heavy, turbulent curtain of water created by high velocity air.
The centrifugal force caused by the rapid changes in airflow direction forces the dust particles to penetrate the water droplets and become entrapped. The contaminated water is then removed from the airstream by special mist filters. Dust, as sludge, settles to the collector bottom and the water is reused.
Eurovac Wet Scrubbers are specifically designed for safe collection of potentially explosive and volatile materials and are very effective in the capture of fine metal particles. They meets the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 484 – 2006) guidelines for processing and finishing aluminum.
Since the Eurovac Wet Scrubbers also meets OSHA and NFPA regulations for dust removal located inside buildings, they can recirculate in-plant, tempered air to conserve energy.
Wet Mix Dust Collection: Dust laden air is drawn into the unit through an internally fitted fan. Upon entering the separator a venturi which forces the air and dust deep into the water. Most of the dust particles fall to the bottom of the unit immediately. Those particles that manage to escape this first stage of cleansing, are forced through thick curtains of water, and are deflected by a series of baffles into the water turbulence, separating
the remaining dust from the air. The airflow creates a circulation in the water that simultaneously removes dust particles from the water and prevents stagnation
of the water. The moist clean air passes through the mist eliminators, where the moisture is removed. The clean air can be returned to the workplace. The dust
which has settled to the bottom of the unit can be raked out or drained out through a valve. Standard units are available in capacities ranging from 400 to 50,000 C.F.M.
Bag in/Bag out – Used for applications where the filtered out product can not be directly handled.
Downdraft tables– Dry and Wet/Dry types. Tables come in standard surfaces of 30’’ x 30’’ (750mm x 750mm) for smaller applications with less air volume and sizes up to 48’’ deep x 96’’ wide (1200mm x 2400mm) for bulky pieces which may require substantial amount of CFM. The perforated work surfaces can also be reinforced if extremely heavy objects need to be sitting on the table while work is being performed.
Other applications may include dust coming from sanding or buffing wood or plastics, odors resulting from gluing composites (charcoal filters would be required), plasma cutting, soldering, capture of plumes of dust resulting from batching/weighing in powder or bulk processing plants. All tables comply with local and federal clean air requirements when equipped with the right filters and fans. Eurovac also offers downdraft work tables without filters or fans so they would be connected to a central dust collector by means of a main exhaust manifold.
